Aug 22nd 2014 – Khaled Al Mudhaf completed a long overdue chance to blow away the cobwebs with the Murphy Protoypes Oreca 03R Nissan LMP2 car at the Norfolk Snetterton Circuit.
After his successful win in the Dubai 24hrs ProAm class with the Ferrari 458, this test gave Khaled the opportunity to familiarize himself again with his passion of LMP2 prototype cars.
Irish Endurance Racing Team, Murphy Prototypes were running the car and drivers ahead of the European Le Mans Series round 5, coming up in September 13th at Paul Ricard.
‘’It was really great to get back into the LMP2 car again, I have really missed this type of car. It was my first time at Snetterton Circuit and it was a wet and windy one so we didn’t want to push too hard in the conditions but everything went really well and my runs were fast and consistent what the team wanted so I am happy. Im looking forward to getting back in the car again for the next race I can’t wait,’’ commented Khaled.
To date Khaled has completed successful outings in three types of LMP2, with Gulf Racing Middle East Lola B12/80 Nissan LMP2, Boutsen Ginion Oreca Nissan LMP2, and Murphy Prototypes Oreca 03R Nissan LMP2. Khaled is to date the only Arab driver at LMP2 Silver level making his mark at this type of prototype racing.
